Music for Trombone and Orchestra was commissioned by the Southwest German Radio (Hans-Peter Jahn, ECLAT festival director) and first performed on February 13th 2011 at the ECLAT Festival, Stuttgart. The performers were the Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Southwest German Radio and Mike Svoboda, trombone, under the direction of Peter Rundel.

  • 1st & 2nd percussion, quasi soloists each with: 
  • megaphone (not electric but with mini-active loudspeaker and mp3 player) mini-anvil triangel whip snare drum (played with sticks and vegetable brush) flexatone modified flexatone (beaters removed, played with triangel beater) mouth sirene glockenspiel 3rd percussion concert bass drum, medium size large ride cymbal (ca. 22“) with a light chain strung over it mini anvil vibraphone
