Triple Concerto in Karlsruhe

Composers: remember that when you write for an orchestra, the audience will be mostly grey-haired (if they have hair at all), but very attentive – they paid to listen after all. And suppose you have the good fortune to have three powerful, virtuosic soloists like Jens Böcherer (trumpet), Sandor Szabo (trombone), and Dirk Hirthe (tuba), with their spirited, supportive, excellent Badische Staatskapelle and Johannes Willig. In that case, the audience might also be very appreciative, even enthusiastic, as I found out with my Triple Concerto morning! This was the first time that the soloists came from within the orchestra itself and bravo to all involved – what a festive performance it was!
