trigger
(2025) 11' / for mandolin orchestra and solo electric guitar
composer's note
What if pulling a trigger released no bullet, but instead a satisfied smile, a playful giggle, or a shout of joy – just as plucking a string releases sound? The electric guitar – identified with the „flower power“ era like hardly any other instrument – serves in trigger for the rest of the ensemble as a catalyst for chains of energetic interjections, a link between shared points of calm, and a lyrical driving force toward a final, affirmative “yes.” Like the flower in the barrel of a gun, this little piece for electric guitar and plucked-string orchestra is an attempt to charge that six-letter word with positive energy.
