"Once around the world" wraps up residency in Neubrandenburg
Yesterday’s performance of Once around the World topped off my artist-in-residence season with the Neubrandenburg Philharmonie. It has been a fruitful time rich with rememberable exchanges and enlightening moments with the musicians and audience alike. New friends were made, trombone concerts were tooted (mine and Grøndahl’s), my new orchestra work „Play“ was premiered, chamber music was performed, my solo concert „Alphorn Special“ was revived, and I came to know the musicians in more depth as a conductor, which was tremendously rewarding. My gratitude to all on and behind the stage, particularly their chief conductor Sebastian Tewinkel and their dramaturg Anke Völker-Zabka for artistic guidance and support, the ever-helpful stage managers Thomas und Johannes, and of course especially to the musicians of the orchestra for their hours of preparation. More performances to come with this fine group of orchestral friends in the 23/24 season!
